   I believe that you can use the pythagorean theorem in real life to build things. For example, if your grandmother is in a wheel chair and she's living in your house, to make transportation easier for her you can build her a wheel chair ramp. A wheel chair ramp is shaped like a wedge and if you look at it from the side you can see a right triangle and also a right angle. Before you build the ramp you need to measure the height and the width or the legs. Therefore if you use the PT - a^2+b^2=c^2 to determine the hypotenuse you will be able to know how far down the ramp will go.
